History – The dream of staying youthful and vigorous is as old as humanity itself. Cellular therapy was developed over more than 80 years from the experience, sparked by the wish, to preserve and restore people’s vitality and performance. The founder of cellular therapy was Prof. Dr. med. Paul Niehans (1882-1971), who gained fame in 1955 when he was summoned to the Vatican to treat the almost 80-year-old Pope Pius XII with fresh cells. The Pontiff recovered completely from the illness he had long struggled with and, physically and mentally rejuvenated, continued to carry out his duties as head of the Catholic Church for many years afterward. In gratitude, Pope Pius XII appointed Prof. Niehans to the Papal Academy of Sciences, as the successor to Sir Arthur Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin. Cellular therapy has since helped many world leaders, including Emperor Hirohito, Emperor Haile Selassie, King Ibn Saud, Konrad Adenauer, Charlie Chaplin and numerous others to regain their health and vitality.
